I just wanted to post this as I think it an important way of getting through what has happened.
On Friday night I found out that Jamie - the son of one of my regular customers - passed away on the Thursday night.
Jamie was only about 20 months old, and I got to know him through his parents shopping at Morrisons on a Friday night. Jamie always used to sit on my till while his parents and elder sisters sorted out the shopping. He smiled and giggled as I used to make a fuss.
Unknown to me, he fell ill on the Tuesday night and was rushed to Sheffield Childrens Unit. He became worse and passed away late on Thursday.
Michael and Michelle, his parents, had not yet had him baptised but decided that that before they lost him that he should be. They were allowed to choose the godparents and write their names on the Baptismal register. They kindly put me down.
As for the cause of the illness, we are waiting the results of the coronor's report.
So this is a tribute to the boy who made me smile on a Friday night and became known to those who work on a Friday night at Morrisons as Crazy Baby. Rest In Peace Jamie, you will be missed x x

Wheels and No Deals - Update!!!
Yesterday my dad decided he wasn't going to pay the £800 for repairs so he set about looking for a new car. He enlisted the help of my uncle, and after a chat about what had happened they went off to another garage to ask a second opinion. The garage owner checked it out and said the repairs would only cost around £150 and a second MoT test would be the £50 - making a total of £200 - much less than the big manufactors garage!
To top it all he said that some of the work the garage had done had been done sub-standard and would do it up free of charge!
My advice to all out there is to go to smaller independent garages who look after their customers and don't charge them the earth!!
Support local independent traders!!!!

Wheels and No Deals
Not been a good couple of days and things don't seem to be improving!
First, my dad's car went for its MoT yesterday and it failed. The garage estimated that the work would cost upto £800 to make it road safe again - which is more than the car is worth! to add to this - when it was recently serviced they said it would need new shock absorbers, a new tyre and a couple of new brake pads to pass. That got done and now it needs more!! The thng is that while doing the brake pads you would think they would notice the brake pipes need doing - or is it just me being stupid. So after paying around £200 to get things sorted and now my dad has 5days or so to either get it repaired or by a new car - and being a pensioner - he's not exactly flush - and the £200 he spent on 'getting it up to standard' could have gone towards a new car! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!
Secondly, Nigel is getting down again and my feelings are growing stronger again. Nick always manages to make Nigel feel low or guilty. I can't help taking Nigel's side though cos I feel the way I do, even though they are both my friends. If only feelings could be switched off.
Thirdly, a certain woman is still getting on my wick. I so wish I could take her down a peg or 4!
Finally, my next essay is due tomorrow and my German Presentation is on Friday - think I need to work 24 out of 24 to getting things good. Oh, my German exam on Thursday went ok - could have been better but the main thing was I knew the topic like the back of my hand after studying it at GCSE and A level History, A level German and at Uni!!

Joining the club!
Welcome to those from Lib Dem blogs – yes I’m finally here!!
I’m so tired at the moment – went delivering last night and finished the whole south end of the High Street that’s in Carholme and got round the students residents too – it was a great night’s work from Ryan, Stephen, my mum and Heather! And I’m not sleeping to well.
I’m just waiting for an exam this afternoon now. It’s my German translation summary. We get a text in English and we summarise it into German – and this likely to be on some point of German history. I’m getting nervous about it but it’s just one of those things that have to be done!
Also busily finishing an essay for tomorrow on the decline of US hegemony in economic terms – joyous! Least when this one is done I can concentrate on my favourite essay of the year – the EU ability to combat terrorism! Woohoo!!
I’ll let you know how the exam went later.

The Alternative
Hello again!
Just taking a quick break from my essay to give you a quick post. I didn’t get to Dolly Mixtures last night – got blown out by everyone so ended up keeping Nigel company at the Vine. Had a good night though.
It’s back to work today with Uni work and tomorrow will most likely be delivering Focus 2 in the campaign for Carholme.
No rest for the wicked!!

Minus 21/28/29 Days!
Welcome to you all!
I suppose I ought to introduce myself. I am Ross Pepper and I am a 20 year old International Relations student from Lincoln. I am currently President of the Liberal Democrat Youth and Students at Lincoln, and Vice Chair of the Lincoln Liberal Democrats.
Well, it is 21 days until the local elections. I am standing for Carholme Ward in Lincoln and the campaign is in full swing with a leaflet on its way (which means more trapped fingers and worn out shoe leather!). It should be all worth it on May 3rd!
Surprisingly it is only 29 days until I finish University for good. It’s a scary thought to be honest, and scary to think that 3 years have just flown by in the blink of an eye.
To top it all, I turn 21 in only 28 days – now that is exciting. I am still thinking about what to do for my 21st. I want to mark it in some way (unlike my 18th) but have not got a clue and time is definitely not on my side.
Anyway, this is leaving me all very busy, plus there is tons on top of this – Kayleigh’s mum’s Breast Cancer Fundraiser Ball on the 4th May, DollyMixtures on the 16th April and 7th May, Nick’s 19th birthday on the 7th May, plus a drink with the lovely Tom at some point!
It’s all very busy – but that’s the story of my life normally!!!
Catch you all soon
